Has Disney Channel Lost Its Magic?

“Hannah Montana” or “Ant Farm”? “High School Musical” or “Teen Beach Movie”? Let’s face it, the current slate of shows and movies on Disney Channel is awful.

I have no interest in watching “Ant Farm,” “Wander over Yonder,” “Dog With A Blog,” “Liv and Maddie,” or “Girl Meets World.” They’re still running “Austin and Ally,” as well as “Phineas and Ferb,” which I deem tolerable, but other than that, I think Disney Channel is at an all time low right now.

I am probably a bigger Disney fan than most people my age, but I have even got to the point where the shows and movies disgust me.

Even the highly acclaimed Disney Channel Original Movies have gotten worse.  “Zapped,” “Build Me A Better Boy,” and “Teen Beach Movie” are not cutting it. They need to bring back the good movies like “Camp Rock,” “High School Musical,” and “Jump In.”

The older movies had better songs and plot lines. There is something much more appealing about seeing two high school sweethearts singing in a musical than two desperate girls making a mechanical boy to date.

Even the holiday-themed movies like “Halloweentown” are better than the current crop of movies like “Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas”.

It seems like Disney Channel crashed hard after making “The Suite Life On Deck.” The original “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” was good, so why ruin it?

For the sake of Disney Channel’s future, I hope that they make some new and better shows, because the current ones make me very sad.
